'Lecture Title - Leading the Field'
Howard Webb MBE is a Premiership and International Football Referee. Howard is an accomplished referee and is commended for his work in football officiating for being the first man to referee the UEFA Champions League final and the FIFA World Cup final in the same year. He is also a police sergeant for South Yorkshire Police. Howard was awarded an Honary Graduate Degree from York St John University in 2011, Doctor of Health Sciences (honoris causa), his award is in recognition of his huge contribution to sport.
Howards lecture will be entitled ‘Leading the Field’ and will focus on his journey from grassroots football to the World Cup final, looking at the personal skills and attributes required. During the talk Howard will highlight the importance of self-belief, perseverance and teamwork. This lecture will be an enjoyable, ensightful and unique look into the high-profile world of Howard Webbs career.
5.45pm Event opens, Temple Hall Foyer, York St John University
Arrival reception, with the oppurtunity to meet the speaker and
6.30pm Event will commence in Temple Hall
The Guest Lecture will run for approx 1hour 15 minutes followed by a Q&A session.
